Musical Genius Productions

Musical Genius Productions started with my own middle school Halloween dance in 2009 at Riverbend Middle School in Iowa Falls, IA. I was 13 years old, and my original DJ name was DJ Thriller Musical Genius. A week later my dad loaned me $500 to buy my first sound system. Days before the dance, my uncle loaned me $600 so we drove to Guitar Center in Des Moines to buy my first lighting rig.

That first event was the beginning of everything. What started with a middle school dance and help from my family grew into a  business that  expanded into weddings, quinces, and corporate events.

In 2014, I rebranded as True Value Entertainment to give the business a more professional identity. In 2017, I rebranded again as Musical Genius Productions as I continued building the company and pursuing higher standards for DJ entertainment.

In 2022, my wife and I moved to Minnesota for her new job. Today, we live in Saint Peter with our daughter Olive and puppy Penny.

Now, I’m focused on bringing everything I’ve learned over the years to Minnesota weddings — creating nights that feel personal, with the right balance of elegance, energy, and a dance floor your guests don’t want to leave!
